Our Approach to QA Assignments
We take a phased approach, where there is a deliverable at the end of each phase. The feedback and approval of the client is sought before going to the next phase. The different phases may be executed on-site or in our office depending on the client's requirement. We emphasize direct contact with our clients to create short communication paths in order to provide custom tailored results and avoid redundancy.

Clearly defined deliverables and extensive project documentation enable our clients to accurately plan ahead.

Our QA assignments follow these 4 steps:

• Test Strategy Design
  The first phase is always the test strategy design phase, which is typically done on-site.  It involves a study of the software and its documents by our Sr. QA project managers, and discussions with the design / development team to identify the critical success factors, risk factors and thereby decide on the focus and the type of testing to be undertaken. This testing could be GUI, Functional, white-box / black box, acceptance, regression etc. The effort-estimates of the subsequent phases and schedule are also fixed in this phase.
   

• High Level Test plan
  In this phase, all the test cases are identified and listed. Depending on what has been decided in the test strategy, these test cases will cover GUI issues, functional correctness, performance, validation etc.
   

• Detailed Test Procedure
  In this phase, for each test case, step-by-step procedures are written. The test data and expected results are compiled. In the case of automated testing, the test procedures are designed, developed (recorded and programmed in case of testing automation tools being used) and tested. For component testing, this may involve writing stub programs to test individual interfaces of the component.
   

• Testing execution
  In this phase, the tests are actually executed and results compiled in standard formats and defects reported.
